I agree. It’s basically a workaround since I didn’t have time to implement lists in the interface yet ;).
Offence type is currently only possible in bull rush attacks. Once you can equip weapons for the hero and NPC’s, each weapon will come with a damage type.
The percentage is indeed a good idea.
