This document explains how we collect, store, use and protect your personal information and data. This includes our http://rpgplayground.com website, the RPG Playground application running on this website and our forum.
Although we are small, we do the best we can to protect your user and privacy rights.

Why we collect this information? To better understand and improve how people use our website.
Minimal personal information from users
Why we collect this information? We need your email address to create your account, and handle services such as resetting your password. We will use this email to communicate with you. For details on our communication, see the relevant section below.
Personal Information on the forum and blog comments
Certain visitors to WordPress choose to interact with WordPress in ways that require WordPress to gather personally-identifying information. The amount and type of information that WordPress gathers depends on the nature of the interaction. For example, we ask visitors who use our forums to provide a username and email address.
In each case, WordPress collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with WordPress. WordPress does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally-identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.
Information we do not collect
We don’t collect any information such as your name, address, social security number, or any other information which would include sensitive personal information.
You are responsible regarding any personal information that you would disclose in your games or on our forum. We discourage you do provide any information online that could personally identify you.
Sharing information we collect
We use 3rd parties to handle our data. This means those companies handle data on our behalf. But we take good care in only providing those parties with the necessary data that is needed for our operations. This includes Google Analytics for website metrics, Siteground as web host and to store your projects, Heroku as server backend, MongoDB to store user data and project meta-data.
Remark that these companies might operate outside of the European Economic Area.
We do not have advertisement on this website or in our product.
We do not make your email address publicly available on this website, or to any other 3rd parties.
Access and control of your data
Your account allows you view the data that you created with RPG Playground.
If you want to remove certain data, your account, or anything else, please contact us and we will personally handle this. We are a small company, so we don’t have developed all tools for doing this. We handle each case personally, on a timely manner.
Since RPG Playground is a custom game engine, all data create by our users is game engine specific. But the main game file is stored in a human readable YAML formatted file. Tilemaps are stored in a binary format, for which you can get the specification.
Contact us if you want to take out all data that you created on our platform. But as stated before, because there is no format standards in this space, the file formats are engine specific.
We will retain your personal information forever, unless you request us to delete it.
Certain 3rd parties such as Google Analytics and WordPress track cookies on our website. You can disable the tracking of cookies in your web browser or device. Please refer to that documentation on how to do this.
Responding to compelled disclosure
We may disclose personally-identifying information or other information we collect about you to law enforcement in response to a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or similar government order.
How we communicate with you
We will communicate with you through the email address provided by you. Communication is minimal, and at this point only 1 welcome email is sent. I might contact you personally when I see a need for this.
In the future we might contact you with other emails, but remark that this is rather exceptional.
