AFTER THE FALL Story Overview The year is 1991. For decades, the world believed civilization would last forever. Governments rose and fell. Wars came and went. Technology advanced faster than humanity could understand. Then came The Fall. Nobody knows exactly how it began. Some say it was a biological weapon leaked during a failed military experiment. Others believe the infection came from something unearthed deep beneath the Arctic ice. What everyone does know is this: The infected did not die. They changed. Within weeks, entire cities collapsed. Emergency broadcasts turned into silence. Power grids failed. Nations disappeared overnight. The dead wandered the highways while the living hid in basements, schools, churches, and abandoned stores. Twenty years later, America is a graveyard. Nature has reclaimed the suburbs. Rusted vehicles choke the roads. Rain falls through broken skyscrapers. Survivors kill each other over canned food and batteries. The infected evolve into horrifying new forms with every passing season. Hope is almost extinct. Main Character You play as Travis, a hardened scavenger living inside the ruins of a fortified settlement known as Haven, built within an abandoned hydroelectric dam deep in the wilderness. Travis survives by taking dangerous supply runs into dead cities known as Red Zones — areas overrun by infected and violent scavenger gangs. After a routine looting mission goes wrong, Travis discovers a teenage girl named Audrey, who appears immune to the infection after surviving a direct bite. But Audrey carries more than immunity. Hidden inside her memories is the location of a long-forgotten research facility called Eden Station, where scientists may have discovered the true origin of the outbreak before the world collapsed. The problem: Every faction left in the wasteland wants her. --- Major Factions The Wardens A brutal militarized regime trying to restore order through absolute control. They execute infected civilians without question and believe sacrifice is necessary for humanity to survive. The Hollow A violent cult that worships the infection as humanity’s next evolution. Their followers intentionally infect themselves to “ascend.” The Drifters Nomadic scavengers and traders who roam between settlements. Some are friendly. Most are dangerous. Haven One of the last functioning survivor communities. Struggling with food shortages, internal corruption, and fear of outside threats. --- Infected Types Rotters Slow-moving infected driven purely by hunger. Stalkers Fast infected that hunt in packs and hide inside dark buildings. Bloat Kings Massive fungal creatures formed from multiple infected bodies merged together. Whisperers Rare infected that mimic human voices to lure survivors into traps. --- Main Journey Travis and Audrey travel across the ruins of America searching for Eden Station while uncovering the truth about the outbreak. Along the way they must: * Explore abandoned cities, hospitals, military bunkers, and underground tunnels * Scavenge food, ammo, medicine, and crafting materials * Build trust with survivor settlements * Decide who lives and dies * Fight rival human factions and evolving infected * Discover whether humanity deserves saving As Travis grows closer to Audrey, he begins questioning everything he once believed about survival. Because sometimes surviving is worse than dying. --- Core Themes * Survival vs humanity * Hope in hopelessness * Trust and betrayal * The cost of saving the world * Family found through tragedy --- Ending Twist When Travis finally reaches Eden Station, he discovers the truth: The infection was never meant to kill humanity. It was designed to replace it. And Audrey is not immune. She is the first successful transformation.
