GAME DEVELOPMENT PROMPT: EARTHBOUND — GUARDIANS OF A PLANET Start by creating a simple 2D educational RPG game called “EARTHBOUND: Guardians of a Changing Planet.” The game should be designed for students learning Earth Science and Environmental Science. REGION 2 — THE BROKEN FOREST A forest environment affected by deforestation, erosion, muddy rivers, and biodiversity loss. REGION 5 — THE ENERGY CRISIS Create a community that needs a reliable electricity supply. The player must investigate different energy options. Possible choices include: solar wind hydropower coal other appropriate energy sources Each choice should affect: energy supply cost environmental impact sustainability community development The player must answer through decision-making: “Which energy strategy gives the community the best balance between energy needs, environmental protection, and sustainability?” The game should show the consequences of the chosen energy strategy. 15. QUEST STRUCTURE Every major quest should follow this structure: SITUATION Introduce a realistic environmental problem. INVESTIGATION Allow the player to explore and gather evidence. SCIENTIFIC CONNECTION Allow the player to connect causes and effects. DECISION Allow the player to choose an action. CONSEQUENCE Show how the decision affects the environment and community. REFLECTION Ask the player to explain why the outcome happened. REWARD Give the player XP, Science Points, badges, or new abilities. 16. EXAMPLE QUEST Create a quest called: “THE FOREST THAT FORGOT TO BREATHE” An NPC says: “Our forest is disappearing.
