Es un juego de aventura en donde el personaje principal es Mario Bross y su misión es rescatar a la princesa Peach, pues esta fue secuestrada por Bowser, el mayor rival de Mario. Por lo que Mario ante esto deberá pasar diversos niveles y cada vez tendrá que derrotar a secuaces de Bowser que a medida de que va avanzando el juego van a ser mas difíciles de superar, hasta llegar al mayor enemigo, el cual es Bowser. Asimismo, a Mario también se le van a aliar personajes que lo ayudarán a superar su compleja misión.
